Nafplio is one of Greece's most charming and historically rich destinations. Only a 2 hour drive from Athens, it is easily accessible for visitors from all over the globe. Nafplio is perfect to use as a base for exploring nearby archaeological sites, including the sites of ancient Mycenae and ancient Tiryns, as well as the renowned Epidaurus Theatre, all within a short drive. The town is blessed with beautiful beaches, such as Karathona and Arvanitia. Karathona Beach, a long sandy stretch surrounded by trees, offers clear, shallow waters making it ideal for families while a range of amenities, including sunbeds and seaside tavernas complete the atmosphere. Arvanitia Beach, closer to the town center, is a picturesque pebble beach under two of the castles in Nafplio, providing an amazing scene for swimming and taking in the wonderful views.

Nafplio is also home to several historical landmarks. The island fort of Bourtzi, situated in the middle of the harbor, is one of the town’s iconic symbols. Accessible by boat, it offers panoramic views and a glimpse into Nafplio’s Venetian past. The imposing Palamidi Castle, perched on a hill overlooking the town, provides stunning views and a fascinating tour through its well-preserved fortifications. Another notable site is the ancient Acronafplia, the original acropolis of Nafplio, featuring ruins from various periods of the town's history.
